SOMETHING REAL
by: Seeing Blind
“So good to see you. How are you?”
“I barely recognized you…you look so good!”
“Oh me? I’ve been good.”
“It’s just the same old thing a different day.”
And, oh, isn’t that a shame? Oh, isn’t that a shame?
Gimme me something real
Gimme something to believe
I’ve been trying to build a life out of my dreams
I’m so tired of counting sheep
Of biting tongue and pulling teeth
I’ve been trying to build a life out of my dreams
It’s so hard to see you, who are you?
There are a million walls you hide behind
And you can’t break through
So you say “I been good.”
But at the end of the day the truth still remains
And oh, isn’t that a shame? Oh, isn’t that a shame?
Gimme me something real
Gimme me something to believe
I’ve been trying to build a life out of my dreams
I’m so tired of counting sheep
Of biting tongue and pulling teeth
I’ve been trying to build a life out of my dreams
Gold can’t buy me anything
I can take with me when I leave
And the thought that life is only temporary
Well that’s the price we all pay to breathe
My soul is gonna have to leave this place
Sooner or later
So give us something real
Give us something to believe
We’re all trying to build a life out of our dreams
We’re so tired of counting sheep
Of biting tongue and pulling teeth
We’ve been trying to build a life out of our dreams
